Can hospitality be taught?
I think it can.
But not through a training manual.
Not through a script.
And not by telling someone to "be more hospitable."
If I were training a team, I wouldn't start by teaching what to say.
I'd start by teaching <why it matters>
Why one genuine conversation can turn a first-time visitor into a lifelong customer.
Why making someone feel welcome is just as important as knowing the tasting notes.
Why every guest who walks through the door is trusting us with their time, and often with a special moment in their lives.
When people understand <why> their role matters, the <how> comes much more naturally.
And I also believe something else:
Hospitality starts at the top.
The way leaders treat their teams is often reflected in the way those teams treat their guests.
If a culture is built on respect, curiosity, and genuine care, those qualities naturally become part of the guest experience.
People don't just follow policies.
They follow examples.
Maybe that's why the best hospitality isn't something you train once.
It's something you demonstrate every single day.
